Animal Farm

PustakBaaz

Animal Farm is a satirical allegory of the Soviet Union and the rise of Joseph Stalin. It was written by George Orwell and published in 1945.

The story is set on a farm called Manor Farm, which is populated by animals who are treated poorly by their human owner, Mr. Jones. The animals hatch a plan to overthrow the humans and run the farm themselves. They create a set of rules to live by, including the famous maxim "All animals are equal."

Two pigs, Napoleon and Snowball, emerge as the leaders of the rebellion and take charge of the farm after the humans are chased away. They rename the farm Animal Farm and set about rebuilding and organizing it.

However, as the years go by, the pigs begin to abuse their power and become more and more like the humans they had overthrown. They start to ignore the other animals' needs and prioritize their own comfort and wealth. The other animals become disillusioned with the pigs and their leadership, and the farm eventually becomes a dictatorship, with the pigs ruling over the other animals with an iron fist.

Throughout the story, the animals struggle to understand and confront the corruption and lies of the pigs, and the book serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of power, corruption, and propaganda.
